LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Criminology/Criminal Justice, Research Methods, plus any other substantive areas as determined by the Department of Sociology; (ii) supervise student research projects and thesis at undergraduate and graduate levels; (iii) conduct research in their area of expertise; (iv) provide service to the community; (v) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department. Teaching experience in at least two of the following areas will be considered as an added advantage; Electronic Crime Organized Crime, Psychology of Criminal Behavior, Forensic Criminology, Criminal Justice Policy Analysis.
Requirements: Applicants for the position should have (i) a Master’s degree in Criminology; (ii) A Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology/ Criminology and/ or Criminal Justice with at least a 2(i) pass / GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iii) show evidence of engagement in research and service; (iv) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages.
