Question 1. Does this mean that I need prior research experience to be admitted?
Answer

The taught semester courses include two compulsory  ones on research methods.

Question 2. Does this mean the research essay is shorter than a dissertation?
Answer

A Research Essay should not exceed 20,000 words excluding references and appendices; but a dissertation should be between 20,000 and 40,000 wordsexcluding references and appendices.

Question 3. What is the difference between a research essay and a dissertation?
Answer

A student may opt to do the Research Essay (which is equivalent to 12 credits) after successfully completing 12 taught semester courses equivalent to 36 credits. A student may alternatively opt to take the dissertation route (equivalent to 24 credits) after successfully completing 8 taught semester courses equivalent to 24 credits.

Question 4. Does the programme involve taught courses?
Answer

Yes but with an additional research project which may be taken as a  Research Essay or as a Dissertation.

Question 5. Can I choose to take the courses as a part-time student?
Answer

Yes.

Question 6. What degree is conferred on successful completion?
Answer

The degree conferred is according to specialization i.e. either the Master of Education (Language Education) or the Master of Education (Early Childhood Education).

Question 7. Does the programme admit only Primary School teachers?
Answer

No. As long as the applicant meets the entry requirements stipulated  in the calendar. Indeed there are secondary school teachers currently  registered for the M Ed Language Education in the past.

Question 8. How many Specializations Exist in the M Ed Programme?
Answer

Two, namely: M Ed Early Childhood Education and M Ed Language Education

Question 9. Do you offer M Ed in Primary Education only?
Answer

Not really, we offer M Ed Language Education and M Ed early Childhood Education.

Question 10. Do you have any MPhil & PhD Programs?
Answer

Programmes are still being developed in different areas of specialization.

Question 11. What are the entry requirements for your programs?
Answer
