List of Services offered by the Division/ Department

Where services are unavailable, you will be referred to public/private providers. Non citizens are expected to pay for these off campus services, citizens only pay for private services.


1. Preventative

Vaccinations, pap smears, Prevention of Mother to Child HIV Transmission, health screens, health talks etc.


2. Curative:

consultation by doctors and nurses, wound dressing, referral to tertiary hospitals.


3. On call Services

we have a nurse cover for emergencies after hours, weekends and public holidays.

4. Pharmacy

pharmacy on site for prescribed medications



5. Laboratory Services

Most of the tests are done and performed on site.



6. Radiological services

we have an ultrasound on site, for other studies, we refer patients to outside providers.

7. Counselling services

open door counselling services in partnership with the University Counselling Centre.


8. Sick leaves

these are only given by doctors on the day of consultation, if indicated. They will not be given in retrospect.

9. Medical Reports

these will not be passed to third parties without the patient's consent. They are only issued when supported by medical evidence. They are usually for scholarships, withdrawal from studies, support for on campus accommodation, medico legal reasons, etc.

Note that chronic illness does not warrant one to stay on campus accommodation: and we may not support a decision to withdraw from studies without prior medical assessment.


10. Meditation room

This is available when one needs time out; check with reception for availability.


11. University events such as graduation ceremony, sports days etc

We provide medical cover for emergencies during these events.
