The School of Public Health is a new School approved by the University Council under the Faculty of Health Sciences. The School has been established to serve as the University of Botswana hub for public health research which is in line with university’s strategic goal of promoting local research capacity and development of both undergraduate and post graduate Public Health programs.
Under the approved FHS organogram, the School of Public Health has five departments and these are: Environmental & Occupational Health; Epidemiology & Biostatistics; Health Systems Research; Reproductive Health and Health Promotion. Currently there is only one department offering undergraduate Environmental Health program.
VISION: The School of Public Health will be a leading center of excellence in the provision of public health training, research and service for Botswana, Africa and the world.
MISSION: Will strive to educate, train, undertake world-class, leading-edge research and provide community service to improve the health of the people of Botswana and beyond.
