Login and Email accounts
Each student is automatically given a login account on their faculty domain. The login account provides access to all computers in the student labs and in the Library. UB email accounts are automatically created for every student and may be accessed at http://outlook.office.com. Details on how to access these accounts are available with the faculty IT support staff.

Internet/Intranet
Internet access is available on workstations at the various computer labs on campus and the Library, and wireless network is available in hostels and most open areas across the campus to enable students to access online information using their own equipment, including wireless-enabled hand-held devices. Students may use their windows logon credentials to access wireless network.

Application Software
Standard Microsoft Office software is available in the student labs and the Library. Specialist software for courses such as engineering, mining, and statistics are made available at departmental computer labs and where possible at the student labs of the relevant faculties.

Computing and Printing Facilities
All students have access to computing and printing facilities for academic use. Printing services are provided in most computing labs at a fee.  As fees vary from faculty to faculty, students are advised to contact their respective faculty IT Support Units for details of the applicable fees in their faculty. Further details of such facilities are available from the faculty IT Support Staff.

Student ID/Access Control Card
Student ID cards and special electronic Access Control cards are issued to give students access to restricted areas and other resources. Cards are issued at the Academic Services Department’s Photo ID Section at the University Student Services Centre (139/102). Should a student’s card be misplaced, lost or stolen the student must go to Student Welfare Department as soon as possible to have the card de-activated.

E-Learning Services
The University has adopted Blackboard as the standard learning management system. Blackboard facilitates around-the-clock web-based learning where students can communicate with lecturers and access lecturer notes and other information relevant to their courses. This application can be accessed at http://dithuto.ub.bw

Student Self-Service Facility
The Academic Students Administration System (ASAS) facilitates online self-service access for students to obtain institutional, program, and personal information. Students can check their registration status and more through ASAS. This system can be accessed at http://morojwa.ub.bw:7001/psp/cs9prod/?cmd=login&languageCd=ENG

Student Support
IT Support staff in faculties and the library are at hand to address queries and resolve problems on IT services. Support notifications about student IT services are usually communicated through the intranet, e-mail or posters in the labs.
