Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree programme
Our undergraduate medical programme is a five year course leading to the a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS). The MBBS curriculum is a problem based, spiral, integrated and student oriented curriculum. The integrated curriculum is innovative and minimizes the traditional separation between biomedical and clinical sciences, bringing the student in contact with patients from the very start of the course. It combines a range of learning strategies including plenaries, problem-based learning (PBL), bio-practicals, workshops, clinical skills teaching and early clinical experience.
Senior secondary school leavers may apply for direct entry into the Pre-medical Programme or Bachelor of Science degree programme at UB or approved equivalent qualification (e.g. A-levels).
Upon successful completion of at least one year (two semesters) at UB or approved equivalent qualification, successful applicants are admitted into the MBBS programme.
